Drew and I enjoy Carl Theodor Dreyer’s The Passion of Joan of Arc together. We discuss images of religious ecstasy, the prison metaphor, simple answers that confound Pharisees. When it ends, after midnight, we take a long walk and talk. She gives me concise review of all of our CD ROMs. She allows that I’m a fun Dad, when I’m not in a bad mood. That’s a fair review. We go back to the hammock and talk some more. When we go in she asks if we can have another midnight walk tomorrow.
