I sit with Drew as she cuts her girls’ camp movie. She’s got a really impressive facility with these editing programs. It’s not just button-pushing either. She has firm aesthetic convictions. She’s very happy, and very able to explain or defend her choices. Or if we think that a change is in order, she can quickly come up with alternatives. I’m impressed, and with that emotional stirring that one feels over his child’s accomplishments. We finish, or rather she pretty well finishes the film. The result is fluid and funny, and finally moving.
