Sarah and the boys have a fine afternoon of unsupervised playing. They are pioneer orphans, surviving quite harmoniously and successfully in the wilderness. Sarah makes everyone some string and twig bows and arrows, with much good shooting to follow. I especially admirate the little fire ring and actual working spit that they mock up. Claire the pioneer baby is quite dangerous. When playing backs are turned, as they naturally will be, she goes shooting toward the street.
